In 2023, YLB partnered with Pace Illumination to develop a full rebrand package that reflected Pace’s positioning within the architectural lighting space. The refreshed brand identity was tailored to evoke a sense of refinement and cohesion.

Research & Strategic Foundation

The process began with a full audit of Pace’s existing brand materials, core messaging, and market presence. YLB also analyzed key competitors and related lighting brands to understand where opportunities existed for differentiation. A unique challenge was distinguishing Pace Illumination from its sister brand, Canlet, while maintaining a clear family resemblance.

Through conversations with the Pace team, YLB identified foundational brand values, such as timelessness, engineering, customization, and modernity. These principles constituted the core framework which YLB’s decision-making was supported by, guiding the development of the brand’s voice and visual direction.

Visual Identity Development

With the overall strategy established, YLB moved into crafting a visual system that embodied Pace’s refined and technically driven character. Central to the redesign was a sophisticated color palette built around deep burgundy, cool violet, and a bright electric yellow accent. Together, these colors provided contrast, flexibility, and a contemporary tone that felt appropriate for an architectural lighting brand.

An updated logo was designed to convey precision and confidence while remaining clean and timeless. The mark avoids unnecessary ornamentation, reflecting the company’s emphasis on engineered simplicity and thoughtful customization. Typography, layout, and other graphic elements were designed to reinforce this same sense of modern clarity.

Implementation & Application

Using the updated standards as a foundation, YLB created a full suite of collateral for Pace. Specification sheets, letterheads, business cards, presentation materials, and additional documentation were rebuilt with consistent, updated styling.

This was followed by the design and development of Pace’s new website. YLB integrated The Lighting Exchange’s Advanced Web platform to support robust product filtering, streamlined navigation, and more accurate data delivery. The new site strengthened Pace’s digital presence while offering customers an intuitive, visually cohesive experience.

Outcome

The rebrand positioned Pace Illumination for the next stage of its growth, presenting a unified and modern identity that accurately reflects the sophistication of its products. The updated visuals, messaging, and digital tools collectively strengthened the brand’s market presence and delivered a clearer, more compelling experience for designers and specifiers.
